In honor of Summer I would like to post a recap of the fun things Matt and I did together. As this is my first post, it overwhelms me to even think about starting about the very beginning of "us". So...I won't:) Perhaps those stories will follow.
Our first adventure was Vernal over Memorial Day weekend, this was especially fun for me because I grew up in Vernal. It was fun to drive up and down Main Street and experience a flood of memories from my childhood. We also visited my old house and drove around my old neighborhood in Cottonwood Heights. Wow, so many wonderful memories. We actually went to Vernal to go mountain biking, they have some amazing trails, our favorite was Jass Chromally. The end of that trail is awesome. Once we even rode the trail backwards just to do the end of it again! I really enjoy biking with Matt, I think he likes biking with me as well even though he is at least 10x better than me:) (Either that or he is really good at pretending).
We tried to make some yummy pizza's on our griddle. They were okay, but we couldn't get the cheese to melt:(
We found a cow skull. Matt put the camera inside and took a picture of me through it's eyeball. I bet your camera hasn't been in a cow's skull!
This is the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. The sun wasn't visible, and the clouds looked like they were burning.
The Price Family Reunion was at the beginning of July. We all camped above Heber in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains. The air up there was so clean, everything was green, and there were pretty flowers, I loved it. I always enjoy spending time with the Price Family, there are a lot of cousins our age, it is a nice change for Matt and I. This year Matt's cousins brought a new game...Coob. I am not sure if that is how you spell it or not but it was super fun, we had some great competitions. On Sunday the 4th we had sacrament around the camp fire and then ate lunch. After lunch it started snowing! We all cozied up inside the trailers to stay warm.
The highlight of our summer was definitely our trip to Lake Powell at the end of August just the week before school started. Matt and I rode down with his parents, neither of us had to drive:) (Thanks Todd). We were able to stay there for the whole week, ahhh...such a nice break! Matt's parents have a house boat time share so every year his family and his mom's siblings and kids come too. This year I was proud of myself for going in and out of the wake on the wake board and slalom ski. Matt was great as usual and even learned how to bare foot, he looked like a pro! (I didn't dare to try it, pretty risky business!) We also spent time hiking and just hanging out on the house boat...even though it got really stinky towards the end there. (I think we can thank the MBA for that.)
This is actually last year, but this is what happens when just the two of us spend hours in the boat waiting for the house boat to be de-pooped and re-gassed.
Well, I think that pretty much wraps up our summer. We are both back to school now. I am just taking a couple classes, but Matt is taking a full load. I am so glad that he is doing what he enjoys and most of all look forward to next December when he graduates!!!Thanks for stopping by, until next time.
