Happiness

We have probably all had thoughts similar to I will be happy when...I get married, graduate, by a house, have kids, have more money, lose 10 lbs etc. etc. etc. I will admit to all of those:) They don't all come at the same time, but I have spent time with each of them. What a shame!
Today, I am happy and I plan to stay that way for the rest of my life! My plan is to serve, be grateful, be hopeful, and be prayerful. I loved conference this past weekend, I feel so rejuvenated after listening and learning from the messages that were shared.
"...Trust in God and believe in good things to come."-Jeffery R. Holland.

p.s. A favorite memory: Matt, food, and camping:) Tell me one of yours...please.

  1. I, too feel rejuvenated after conference. It was wonderful! Congratulations on your plan for lifetime happiness! It's an amazing and enabling decision-even if it doesn't seem like it's a decision sometimes:) I try to stay happy. I think it's just important to be patient with ourselves when we slip and forget to be happy every once in a while. I've done that too, but it just makes it harder to get back on the happy track. So if you ever forget to be happy, just remember that it's ok and you can make the decision every day!:)

  2. Oh, and favorite memory...well I have a lot, but one that comes to mind is listening to Amy Grant's Christmas CD and just Christmas in general. I Loved sleeping under the Christmas tree so much.

a favorite memory is graduation night when we went to daybreak lake and there was a huge storm coming and it was super windy and we ran around the lake screaming at the top of our lungs like nothing could ever touch us! and then we got in your truck and listened to the beach boys. that was a great day. :)

  4. Thanks for the great reminder. It is sometimes hard to focus on what we have and how blessed we really are right now, in the moment. Discouragement only comes from Satan and I think that not being happy in the moment is a kind of discouragement. Conference was great - I am excited to listen to it again and again!

  5. hmm, a favorite memory that just came to mind (after reading McKenna's) was the first year I decorated for Christmas with your family. It was fun to see the new/different traditions your family had and to be a part of that.
